Anwara Syed Haq tells story of life in Sydney

On the evening of November 23, Prashantika organized a special evening for the legendary novelist Anwara Syed Haque, Sydney’s prominent Bangladeshi citizens were also present at the event.

“I am truly impressed and honored to see and hear the way you are holding Bengali, Bengaliness in the land of exile.” This is how veteran novelist, poet, essayist, and doctor Anwara Syed Haq expressed her feelings on seeing ‘Durjoy Praner Anande, Anwara Syed Haque Sandhya’ organized by Prashanthika.

 

Prashantika editor Atiqur Rahman Shubho gave a greeting to everyone on the occasion.

From the writings of Anwara Syed Haq and Shamsul Haque, local literature lovers, Shahidul Alam Badal, Apu, Omar Ayaz Ani, and Nehal Neyamul Bari, read in style.

Mohammad Ali, Dr. Shafin Rashed, Dr. Shakhawat Nayan, Kamal Pasha, Shafiqul Alam, and columnist Ajay Dasgupta spoke about the writer’s life and literature.

Sydney’s senior citizen Gama Abdul Qadir was the president of the event. He was accompanied on stage by Ajay Dasgupta, Shafiqul Alam, and Anwara Syed Haque.

Anwara Syed Haq was given a special award by Prashantika, she was presented with flowers, books, and a certificate on this occasion.

At the end of the program, Prashanthika editor Atiqur Rahman Shubho conducted a question-and-answer session with Anwara Syed Haque. Porvi Parmita Bose, Anila Parveen, Mohammad Ali, Shafin Rashed, Akash Kamrul, and others participated in this episode.

Shafiqul Alam and his company AY Commercial Cleaning gave full support in organizing the event. Sarkar Kabir Uddin and Edward Ashok Adhikari captured all the moments with their photography skills.
